The two French producers team up with LA-based singer-songwriter for their high-octane house single, a rave-ready track that shows the collaborators taking a fun detour from their previous work together.
Low-end mastermind Habstrakt and Parisian producer ElmyX are kicking it into high gear with their new single alongside LA’s lauded singer-songwriter, Simona Shao. “Off My Head” is a turbocharged house single that is turning the corner by way of Insomniac’s recently launched GOTTA MOVE label.

Switching lanes into an area that is unexplored by the frequent collaborators, “Off My Head” is a vocal-driven house song that packs an intriguing playfulness while never taking its foot off the gas. Shao’s airy vocals are dreamy and delightful. Her topline has a head-spinning hyperpop allure, which is tailed by the track’s neon-lit arpeggios and rainbow road-esque melodies. Trotting techno rhythms are the asphalt that pave the way for shrieking synth modulations, plucky basslines, and candy-coated bleeps and bloops that make for one futuristic ride.
Touching on the blatant chance in tone they took for their collaboration, Habstrakt shares, “This new one with ElmyX hits different—far from our usual vibe, yet it still feels like home.”

The single pulls up right in time for the kickoff of the official ‘Off My Head’ Tour, with the first show taking place at Exchange LA. They have crossed paths on numerous remixes throughout the year, and recently joined forces for the “2015” collab for Habstrakt’s ‘From Within (part 1)’ EP.

About ElmyX
ElmyX is a DJ & producer from Paris. From House to Techno, with some baile funk influences, ElmyX provides a large range of genres & styles of music. He likes to put melodic attention in his music as he wants to bring nostalgic feelings, drawing inspiration from his memories.
He creates his own visuals, artwork, and universe by blending visual art and digital.
With this, his productions have gained the attention of well-known international and local artists and labels such as ‘Noir Sur Blanc’, ‘SANS MERCI’, and recently ‘Monstercat’.
ElmyX started music before he could even walk. During his childhood, he learned to play the trumpet and music theory at the conservatory.
In 2016, he slowly began to share his music and was signed for the first time in 2022 on the label ‘Noir Sur Blanc’ with his single ‘The End’.
He participated in La fete de la Musique in 2018 and 2019 in his own city with thousands of people in front of the stage.
Finally, 2022 was the year of things getting real. He got supported by big artists and DJs, people started to recognize him, and his project is now musically and visually well defined.
In 2023, he released 1 official remix for Daddy DJ and 2 for Habstrakt’s ‘Heritage’ remix album.
This year, 2024, marks the launch of his debut EP, ‘Lost In A Dream’, a project that enhances the artist’s vision in both music and visuals, created by ElmyX himself. The EP has attracted the attention of many international DJs.
He also played for the first time in the prestigious club ‘L’Amnésia’. A behind-the-scenes producer, he has also worked for several world-renowned artists.
