Australian producer/DJ HARLEY GIRL is back with the release of his sophomore EP, legitimate dj behaviour , out now via Sumoclic . Following the success of the irresistibly bouncy singles “ do it like that ” and “ jump ! ”, HARLEY GIRL now delivers the full four – track EP, introducing two brand – new tracks: the high – energy “ all night ” and the infectious collaboration “ in the city ” featuring Australian – born, UK – based artist Hey Baby .
Reflecting on the collaboration, HARLEY GIRL shares; “Abby (aka Hey Baby) and I met over Instagram at the end of last year. From memory, it was the same week I started a demo that became ‘in the city’. I wanted to make something a bit cuter that you can sing along to, and the stuff Abby was working on for her new project ‘Hey Baby’ felt like exactly what I had in mind.”
On the inspiration behind the EP, HARLEY GIRL reveals; “ legitimate dj behaviour has been the most fun and creative I’ve felt making music in a long time. It’s been the same with th e visual elements too. The small little world I created will hopefully feel tongue – in – cheek to people who interact with it. To me, it’s kind of funny to call myself a ‘legitimate DJ’ and be any sort of authority on what that entails as a fairly new artist in this space.”
Musically, the EP is a bold and energetic ride through HARLEY GIRL’s vision of club – ready, body – moving tracks.
“I just wanted to make what I wanted to hear – fast, bouncy, energetic tracks that make you want to move,” he explains. “Visual ly, I imagined the EP like a computer program – the legitimate dj behaviour simulator – which became a fun concept to explore through the Blender visualisers I created for each release.”
