Over the last few months Australian artist Harry Nathan has given us two exceptional new singles – ‘Understanding’ & ‘So Real’ – which also came with promise of a new EP coming our way soon, and lucky for us, soon is now!
That EP is titled“Cosmic Perspective” and it is a cruisy four-track collection of late-night, lo-fi house goodness that is blendedwith psychedelic undertones and intoxicating rhythmic patterns.
As Harry reveals below, he began writing this EP while staying on a friend’s farm in Byron Bay over the summer, and through those friends he was able to deepen his knowledge of our Indigenous Australian culture. The EP incorporates live recordings of wildlife from the surrounding farm area, as well as live didgeridoo recordings that can also be heard on the previously unreleased singles; ‘Still Wrong’ and title-track, ‘Cosmic Perspective’.
“I wrote this EP whilst staying on a friend’s farm for the summer in Byron Bay Hinterland. I was blessed to be able to connect with the land and through my friends deepen my knowledge of our Indigenous Australian culture. Hidden amongst the EP are recordings of birds and wildlife, live didgeridoo, and conversations with my friends. I wanted to keep the lyrics sparse and poignant, to allow the sonic landscape to tell most of the story”. ~ Harry Nathan
Harry Nathan’s “Cosmic Perspective EP” is house-music for sophisticated stargazers, and itis available everywhere now via Ingrooves.
