“Pipe Cleaner” is a rock-infused monster that’s hellbent on unleashing pure chaos. Eerie undertones lay an uneasy foundation, which explodes into rambunctious punk drum circles and animalistic vocal bends. The screamed death metal vocals multiply the intensity before ramping up into a bludgeoning sequence of laser-fueled mayhem, shrieking synths, churning bass grinds, and blood-pumping double kick drum hits. Brain-warping sound design meets metallic carnage for a sound that is pure destruction. Blurring the lines between skull-splitting dubstep and merciless metal, the pair unshackle a monster with “Pipe Cleaner.”
High Zombie explains how the track came to be and ended in the hands of the Gud Vibrations head honchos: “Skxlvtor and I wrote ‘Pipe Cleaner’ in a little under three days— basically, we both had a solid work-in-progress track ready to go in the same key; so we combined the two projects seamlessly and we proceeded to speed-write the track together. Once a playable mix was complete; I posted a Twitter sneak peak and SLANDER DM’d me saying, ‘Your new clip is fire!’ And now, it is on Gud Vibrations. So, it has been an incredibly fun song and we are both super excited for it to be released!”
Skxlvtor breaks down the vibe of the collab in his own words: “‘Pipe Cleaner’ represents the violent collision of tearout and thrash metal. It’s unrelenting chaos, forged in distortion and aggression. High Zombie and I wanted to craft something heavy, groovy and hard hitting, something that pulls you into the void and leaves you craving more destruction.”
Hailing from Denver, High Zombie is a rising star in the bass music scene building upon his background as a metal drummer to craft dark, symphonic productions.
