An ode to the omnipresent and all-powering ethos of rave culture, Angel In The Rave is an ambitious four-track offering from HOLLY. Channeling underground energies through an experimental bass lens, Angel In The Rave cuts through genre norms with adventurous sound design, thrilling transitions, and unbridled mentality that surges throughout the EP. Along with HOLLY’s previously released single ‘IF YOU JUST A PUNK’ and Rezz collaboration ‘DYSPHORIA’, the EP features two new tracks, ‘MUSIKAL TOUCH’ and ‘IPANEMA’, that highlight the limitlessness of HOLLY’s sonic vision.
“Angel In The Rave explores my love for the rave and dance music. I often find myself in raves wishing that the world was more like it: a place where everyone can come together in peace and love, where we celebrate our differences without any judgment or hate towards one another, and where good times and respect are the mojos. With everything that is going on in the world these days, I find myself always having these thoughts every time I get to go to a rave, thinking about how sometimes it feels like there’s an angel in the rave protecting us. Portuguese producer/DJ HOLLY is a magnetic force on the music scene. Having racked up a remarkable number of accomplishments since 2017, HOLLY’s production discography includes collaborations with artists like CL, Danny Brown, 24hrs, Machinedrum, Zeds Dead, and Baauer, the latter of which earned him a Grammy nomination for his work on Planet Mad. In 2023, HOLLY unveiled the first two installments of his EP trilogy, collectively known as Minha Vida: Love, Hope, and Sadness and also released his collaborative 天の川 (River of Heaven) EP with Machinedrum on Vision Recordings.
Since making his debut on the label earlier this year with ‘DYSPHORIA’ alongside Rezz, HOLLY has become an integral part of the growing HypnoVizion roster, supporting Rezz at The Phoenix Raceway and upcoming show at Denver’s Mission Ballroom.
