Hot Since 82 has released “Shaded,” the first single from his forthcoming album Obsessions, out September 4 on Knee Deep In Sound.

This is Daley Padley looking past the blur for a second: the flights, the clubs, the late exits, and the strange silence that follows it all. Obsessions comes from a more settled place, where self-acceptance sits alongside the old rush, and the sound reaches back toward the deep house heat that first made Hot Since 82 feel so vital in the early 2010s. There is nostalgia in it, but not the dead kind. Across nine tracks, Padley circles back to the feeling that built his name and pulls it into the rooms he plays now.

“Shaded” gets right into the bloodstream of UK rave history, reworking Shades Of Rhythm’s “Sound Of Eden” – keeping the vocal hook and chord progression intact, then pulls them into a sharper, heavier frame built for current rooms.

Speaking about the lead single off his forthcoming album, Hot Since 82 said:

“Moments like this don’t come around often. Taking a record you’ve loved for years, being invited inside it, and then helping introduce it to a new generation of dance floors is something I’ll never take for granted.”

The release follows Hot Since 82’s Beatport Live sunset set with fabric and Beatport, recorded 58 floors above London at Horizon 22, the city’s highest viewing platform.
