The remastered 1994 house classic receives its first digital release, a new vinyl repress and an expanded tracklist featuring the previously unreleased “Unity.”

Definitive Recordings has reissued Ian Pooley‘s Roller Skate Disco EP, bringing one of the label’s early house releases to digital platforms for the first time alongside a new vinyl repress.

Originally released in 1994, the EP captures an early chapter in Pooley’s catalogue through disco-inspired sampling, funky guitar loops, warm rolling basslines and the melodic, acid-touched detail that runs through the collection. The title track pairs an uplifting groove with a looping female vocal, while “Sure!” drives forward on crisp TR-909 drums, deep synth chords and a playful TB-303 sequence.

Elsewhere, “The Brückenkopf At 7AM”, named after a legendary club in Pooley’s hometown of Mainz, heads into deeper territory with dreamlike synth textures, a piano motif and another 303 line. The expanded edition adds the previously unreleased “Unity”, a hypnotic deep house cut that fits naturally beside the original material.

More than three decades after its original release, Roller Skate Disco EP remains a vivid snapshot of Pooley’s early sound and a defining piece of Definitive Recordings history.
