Following his ‘Latido’ EP in December of last year, UK talent Iglesias returns to Hellbent Records alongside KONXIOUS for their first release together, ‘Automatic’. The two-track EP brings together two artists connected through their newly-launched Dead Quiet Studio project, a new recording, mixing and mastering space, marking the first time they step forward together as collaborators as they serve up a hard-hitting double set of club cuts.
‘Automatic’ opens with surging synths, a punchy bassline and a sense of lift that contrasts with the darker side of the production, before ‘Act Classy’ shifts gears with skippy drums, a heavy low-end and hooky female vocals that drive the track forward.
With a catalogue spanning Solid Grooves, COCO, Mindshake and more, Iglesias has earned love via his unique hybrid-live setup and his analogue-led, percussive approach to tech house, earning multiple Beatport #1s and a place among the platform’s Top 50 best-selling tech house artists of all time. Meanwhile, KONXIOUS is a new alias from Jon Kong as he begins a new chapter following an impressive career as one half of UK mainstays Leftwing : Kody. With releases on East End Dubs’ Belief, Pitch Records, and a collaboration with Hot Since 82 on Knee Deep In Sound already in the books, this link-up offers the latest glimpse of the project’s new direction.
