The rising Dutch bass producer comes through with a hard-hitting anthem ahead of his upcoming EP release
Rising bass producer IMANU has released new single ‘Aching (On A High)’ featuring Lia, out today on 15th September.
With an EP on the way in October, latest single ‘Aching (On A High)’ sets the tone with a hard-hitting rave weapon featuring previous collaborator, Montreal-based Lia on vocals. IMANU’s uptempo groove is complimented by Lia’s dulcet tones as the track’s synth soundscape intensifies, building into a euphoric climax. The track follows lead single ‘Of Two Minds’, a high-energy, experimental bass track that features the whimsical vocals of Rhode.
Continuing to push the boundaries of the bass scene, the upcoming EP is set to show off IMANU’s stylistic range, crossing genres from the brutalist synth soundscape of ‘Dream Sequence’ to the emotionally charged melodic house of ‘Aching (On A High)’.
The rising producer is also gearing up to present PARADISE, his Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) showcase on 20th October at the iconic Melkweg. Hosted by electronic music events ADE and co-promoted by Curated by, the event is set to showcase an exciting new generation of talent on the bass scene: London-based SICARIA, Dutch drum & bass producer Buunshin, singer-songwriter LaMeduza, Toulouse-based collective Visages, hotly tipped French producer The Caracal Project and festival favourites The Glitch Mob, all playing diverse multi-tempo, genre-hopping sets. Rising to the spotlight at the age of just 16 under his former alias, Signal, with his brutalist style of music, IMANU has developed his presence on the scene as one of the greats. Now in his 20s, he’s already had releases on significant labels such as Deadbeats, UKF and VISION, released his debut EP UNFOLD on Deadbeats in 2022, and has over 6 million streams on Spotify alone. He’s also remixed the likes of Apashe, TOKiMONSTA and What So Not & Skrillex and already collaborated with the likes of Noisia, KUČKA, Pham and josh pan.
‘Aching (On A High)’ signals another leap forward for this young talent, setting the scene for what promises to be a game-changing EP from IMANU this October.
