IN / ROTATION Returns with the 16th Installment of its Esteemed Rotate Compilation Series with 10 Exclusive Tracks

Insomniac is taking its acclaimed ROTATE series for another spin with a 10-track offering showcasing the most exciting names in indie dance, UK garage, tech house, and more.

IN / ROTATION continues to pummel ever-forward with the latest installment of its esteemed ‘ROTATE’ compilation series. Arriving on January 27th, the 16th Volume is bursting at the seams from so many club-ready grooves, which have been crafted by exciting names including Broken Hill, BOLO, Espii, Gkat, ALVES, Klaudie, Daffy, Space Jump, Carlos Real, Jamie Aramayo, and Fabrice.

Adding 10 exclusive tracks into the fold, ‘Rotate Vol. 16’ features some of the hottest emerging names across the global dance landscape. Designed as a proving ground for all things house and techno, the compilation reaffirms IN / ROTATION’s commitment to spotlighting the next generation of artists pushing house, techno, UKG, indie dance, and adjacent club-focused grooves.

Kicking off the affair is LA-based producer Broken Hill, a breakthrough name recently nabbing the No.1 spot on Beatport’s ‘Indie Dance’ Chart alongside BLOND:ISH and Darco. His offering “That’s Hot” is an incendiary cut anchored by raw, voicenote-recorded vocals, buzzsaw synth leads, and dissonant chord stabs. A slow-burning groove simmers beneath the surface, eventually erupting into a euphoric climax made to set the festival circuit on fire.

Sharing his excitement about the release, Broken Hill says, “I’m honored to lead the new ‘Rotate’ compilation with ‘That’s Hot.’ It’s been my most requested ID this year, receiving support from heavyweights like Adam Ten and Max Styler. Every vocal was recorded on my iPhone to capture a specific rawness, and I’m proud to start the year strong on one of my top-goal labels.”

San Diego’s house and techno producer BOLO joins forces with emerging artist Espii for their collab, “LOCA LOCA.” It’s a Latin house heater infused with a sharp tech house edge. A flaming-hot Spanish female vocal sits at the core of the record, balanced by a hypnotizing, swinging trumpet melody. The temperature continues to climb towards crazy, as the track rides a beefy oscillating bassline accented by sultry hand percussion. The release arrives ahead of BOLO’s recently announced tour, including stops at EDC Mexico, Beyond Wonderland, HARD Summer, and more.

Breaking down the inspiration behind the track’s sound, BOLO shares, “I think this record mixes classic Latin house with a bit of the new school tech house sound, which has been working great in my sets.” Gkat is an LA-based up-and-comer quickly rising through the Indie Dance scene. “Over Seas” brings his natural dancefloor instincts to the foreground, a vivacious percussive-driven indie dance cut. Its elastic basslines are dotted by acid-tinged synths and slapping percussive rhythms, which create tension around infectious vocal loops about sticking to the grind.

Speaking on the significance of this release, Gkat shares, “Releasing this one on IN / ROTATION is such a meaningful moment for me as an artist. For as long as I could remember, I’ve been listening to Insomniac releases and have found so much inspiration in the countless number of great songs they have released throughout the years.”

Brazil-born, Miami-based ALVES turns up the heat with “Favela,” a club-ready tech house track tapping into the vibrant culture of his home country. Packed with the raw flavor of Brazilian funk, the deep cut employs a stripped-back groove marked by thick, buzzing bassline plucks and a smoky Portuguese vocal hook that highlights his heritage proudly.

Diving into the personal touches he poured into his production, ALVES shares, “‘Favela’ is my way of honoring where I come from and the energy that shaped me. I wanted to bring a little bit of Brazilian rhythm to Insomniac.”

Originally from the Czech Republic, Klaudie is a Miami-based classically trained violinist who swapped out her bow for a DAW, spending the last year creating minimal-leaning club records. She shifts the mood with “Feels So Right,” a rolling deep house number pinned down by a soulful vocal hook that feels both intimate and timeless. Classic Korg synth stabs are paired with groove-heavy rhythms, resulting in a nostalgia-laced record perfect for serving and strutting.

Bristol-based producer Daffy is a bassline technician whose UKG and house tracks have caught the attention of Sammy Virji, Skream, DJ Q, and BBC Radio 1’s Jeremiah Asiamah. On his contribution “In Transit,” the producer whips up a low-slung chunk of forward-thinking UK bass. Fueled by razor-sharp breakbeats, the deep and murky percussive flow is packaged together with reverberating low-end rumbles, striking vocalizations, and liquid melody lines culled straight from the UK underground.

Londoner Space Jump is a producer who has remained airborne since launching the project in 2019, with his energetic and euphoric tracks earning recognition from BBC R1 tastemakers Sarah Story, Jaguar, Jack Saunders, Danny Howard, Arielle Free, and Pete Tong. On “GTA,” UK’s rising rave phenom delivers a jolting fusion of hard house, techn,o and breaks. Lightning-fast rhythms and incessant vocal chops propel the track forward while ethereal proggy synth overlays cut through to create a dynamic, uplifting contrast.

Breaking down the vibe of his track, Space Jump describes “GTA” as: “a euphoric, full-energy warehouse and club track. Driving bass and hard-hitting drums, sprinkled with melodic vocals and synths.”

Boulder native Carlos Real is a self-professed space cowboy cartoon character whose sound revolves around cosmic melodies and deep, entrancing minimal tech. He reins the release back in with “Heist,” a dark, minimal groover defined by atmospheric tension and restraint. Scattered, panning synth riffs are paired with pitch-shifting bassline pulses and tightly woven drum patterns programmed to be effective from dusk all the way through dawn.

Relaying his gratitude for representing the growing minimal genre, Carlos Real shares: “Releasing this track with IN / ROTATION feels like a homecoming in the best way. As a US artist, it’s exciting to see this sound gaining real momentum here. I’m honored to contribute to a compilation that helps push that wave forward alongside such talented producers.”

Leed-based producer Jamie Aramayo is making waves with a growing body of basement jams, combining UK garage with tech and deep house. The cross-pollination of influences is potent with “Rhythm Toker,” bridging speed garage with a weighty minimal four-four groove. The hefty basslines take center stage, while jacking drums, warping synth leads, and an array of tech-powered fills rip through the soundsystem-approved vocal loops.

Closing out the compilation is fast-rising Uruguayan phenom Fabrice. As a resident DJ for the esteemed Pacha Ibiza, the producer demonstrates his connection with club crowds with “Do That Dirty.” It’s a provocative indie dance tool equipped with hypnotic percussion and gritty, understated textures. Proving patience is the best approach on the dancefloor, his arrangement takes its time in creating a lasting imprint as layers are added and subtracted with expert-level finesse.

Summing up the technique that makes his track so impactful, Fabrice says, “It’s about letting groove and pressure do the work over time, without rushing the moment.”

Altogether, ‘Rotate Vol. 16’ reinforces IN / ROTATION’s ethos of championing emerging talent and boundary-pushing sounds throughout house and techno. Across each of its 10 exclusive tracks, the compilation spins, twists, twirls, and pivots into a collection of artists considered to be up next from club culture.
