J Wax Detonates Club Floors With Gritty and Bouncy UK Garage Single “Do The Bang” on HARD Recs

The Edinburgh-based phenom debuts on the HARD imprint with his new single, an all-action workout powered by weighty UK garage grit.

Edinburgh’s J Wax lands on HARD Recs for the first time with his incendiary new single, “Do The Bang,” dropping on 5th September. A volatile blend of UK garage grit and bassline weight, the track captures the producer’s genre-bending ethos while locking firmly into peak-time dancefloor territory.

“Do The Bang” is a no-frills, all-action workout that bursts with ragga-inflected scat vocals and shuffling percussion that refuses to stand still. Sirens wail overhead, metallic hits rattle through the mix, and warped low-end slides keep the energy tightly wound.

“’Do The Bang’ was my attempt at a straight-up, bouncy club track, built around infectious, repetitive vocals, warped synths, a thick sub, and a plucky bass designed to stand out in sets and stick in listeners’ heads,” explains J Wax.

With a catalog shaped by influences spanning breakbeat, electro, techno, and beyond, J Wax has been carving out an early reputation for unpredictable, underground club weapons. His new HARD Recs release has already picked up early DJ support from names such as Interplanetary Criminal, Job Jobse, Osmosis Jones, Y U QT, DJ Seinfeld, and Prozak, while his music has received repeated radio play on BBC Radio 1 courtesy of Sarah Story, Danny Howard, and Pete Tong – cementing his position as one of Scotland’s most exciting rising names. On the live front, he is set to appear at Glasgow’s SWG3 this season, following recent standout sets at Kazimier Garden, NT’s Loft, Sneaky Pete’s, and Liquid Lounge. With ‘Do The Bang’, J Wax makes a blistering HARD Recs debut that confirms his place among the new wave of UK club innovators.
