An artist embedded within London’s underground scene for years, Jack Swift is growing and gaining his well- deserved plaudits as an exciting talent emerging from the capital. Known for his technical prowess as a DJ, traversing genres and drawing from the full spectrum of house, garage, and beyond, Swift’s focus more recently has seen him hard at work in the studio as he shapes his sound as a producer. Following releases via James Dexter’s Inermu, Politics Of Dancing, and AVTR, he returns to Make You Move Records alongside vocalist Damon Trueitt for his ‘Woosah’ EP, having remixed label co-founder Devstar in 2020, with the imprint boss returning the favour on remix duties alongside UK house favourite Scott Diaz.
Title track ‘Woosah’ leans on a mix of classic and modern house dynamics as Trueitt’s soulful vocals guide low- slung bass, crisp drums, and sweeping melodies for a rich late-hours ride, while ‘Be Free’ ups the tempo and veers towards speed garage with rumbling low-ends, skippy percussion and swirling melodies snake amongst the mix and take things into the peak time. Delivering his take on ‘Woosah’, Scott Diaz’s remix strips things back and introduces bubbling bass patterns and slick grooves, before Devstar’s ‘Atmospheric Mix’ introduces lush organ melodies and hazy sweeping atmospherics to shape up proceedings in classy fashion.
Jack Swift ft. Damon Trueitt – ‘Woosah’ EP drops via Make You Move Records on 19th August 2022, with title cut ‘Woosah’ available to stream from 5th August 2022.
