Enigmatic London artist Jimothy Lacoste has dropped new single ‘Describe Stoke-On-Trent’, out today.
Underpinned by a bumping, 2-step production, ‘Describe Stoke-On-Trent’ sees Jimothy harness the playful, romance-tinged lyricism that he has built his reputation around, as he urges the lady in his life to “let’s go Stoke-On-Trent”. It marks his first release since May EP Jimothy’s House Party Package 1, a four-track record that signalled a shift towards a more UKG-influenced sound.
The release coincides with Jimothy’s House Party pop-up event at Boxpark Shoreditch tonight where he will be performing some of his latest music as well as unreleased material. He will also embark on his Let’s Leave Earth Tour this September, with performances at London’s Village Underground (21st), Bristol’s Exchange (22nd) and Manchester’s The Deaf Institute (24th).
Armed with a cache of self-produced iPad beats, deadpan vocals and effortless style, Jimothy Lacoste burst onto the scene in 2018 with a steady stream of lauded singles, including ‘Getting Busy!’, ‘FUTURE BAE’, ‘I Can Speak Spanish’ and ‘Subway System’. He has continued his ascent in the years since, performing at Glastonbury and Field Day amongst others.
Continuing with what has been a prolific 2021, ‘Describe Stoke-On-Trent’ finds Jimothy Lacoste in typically buoyant form.
