With the landmark project already in full flow, Booka Shade’s ‘Reworked’ package marking their 20th anniversary and celebrating their longstanding careers at the forefront of electronic music is proving a favourite for many of the scene’s elite, with the fresh mixes landing immediately into the record bags of Sasha, Adam Beyer, Gorgon City and ANNA to name just a few. However, where previous remixes in the series so far have delved back deep into the catalogue to offer up fresh takes on longstanding early classics, the tables are turned for the fourth instalment as Berlin-based live artist, producer and vocalist JOPYLN serves up a fresh take on the pair’s 2020 collaboration ‘Blaze’ with singer-songwriter, Jan Blomqvist.
A regular on their Blaufield Music imprint, while releasing via Watergate and Crosstown Rebels, and remixing the iconic duo with her latest recent ‘Speak to Me’ on Get Physical, her take on ‘Blaze’ is a typically vibrant and absorbing affair with surging synth melodies bringing a tougher, dance floor-focused change, while her signature vocals join alongside Blomqvist’s to accent and elevate the original to new spheres.
