JVLY (pronounced JULY) is a project from Australian singer/songwriter/producer Kayle Butler, who makes chilled indie – R&B/ soul music that can be likened to a mix between NEIL FRANCES , LEISURE and The Internet.
This week JVLY is excited to announce that he has a new concept ep on the way titled “SUNDER”, and with that news also comes its first preview with the gloriously smooth sounds of new single ‘SOUTH.
“SOUTH is the first song I finished for SUNDER, and it’s the first glimpse of that world I’m trying to bring you into with this project. SUNDER is a concept EP that has a through line connecting it all . I t’s also visually inspired by films like ”Enter The Void ” and “ Requiem for a Dream”.
SOUTH started with an idea my friend Cal ( from daste .) had sent me a while before. He co – produced it with me. The track touches on the inevitable loops we find ourselves in sometimes, even when we know better. When reason is there to see but you kind of look away. The wonky keys and the constant groove give i t this driving energy, and I like the irony of that. ” ~ JVLY
