Kalipo returns with his new EP "An der Straße gegnüber"

Jakob Häglsperger aka Kalipo is back with his latest EP ‘An der Straße gegenüber’ out via KI Records. Incorporating exciting collaborations with the likes of Austrian duo, Wiener Planquadrat, and Rico + Franco, Kalipo offers an EP which catapults listeners into a state of boundless optimism and liberation.

Perhaps it is in part due to his eclectic musical background – he is a member of electropunk project Frittenbude, and regularly stamps his mark on other projects such as the new dark disco queen Dina Summer – that he is able to produce original and exhilarating tracks which blend house, techno and electropunk, paired with exciting vocals that break any genre-conforming expectations.

After evocative sound adventures on the likes of ‘Never Go Back Again’ ‘Lost in the Night’, the EP builds towards its final musical monument, House of the Art, a tribute to his base in Berlin, where he translates so many of his ideas into music. He infuses the optimism and sense of adventure distinct to the city into an atmospherically indie-twinged track, which marks a fitting close to ‘An der Straße gegenüber’ and leaves listeners with the inspiration to live in the present and surrender to the music.
