West Coast imprint Modern Delivery Xpress welcomes San Diego’s KamJam to the label for the first time with ‘Superfly’, a house record that draws as much from years of live musicianship as it does from contemporary club music. Rich in feel without becoming crowded, the track unfolds through vibrant funk motifs, fluid drum work, hooky vocals and an easy sense of momentum, revealing a little more of itself each time the loop comes around.
Originally from the Bay Area, KamJam spent years playing drums, piano and guitar across funk, jazz and rock bands before turning his attention to production. That foundation remains central to his writing today and in ‘Superfly’, where each element seems to react to the last, giving a natural ebb and flow that feels played as much as programmed. Rhythm, texture and melody take turns nudging the track forwards, delivering a confident introduction to a producer whose sound already feels considered and his own.
