The new release comes just two months removed from his debut album ‘CAGE SCRIPT.’ Renowned for his diverse and expressive sound, the 12-track effort was a future-facing fusion between the expansive subgenres and cultural influences that underline his versatile catalog. The immersive storytelling project featured standout singles “RETURN TO NOTHINGNESS,” “FLOW IN YOU,” “IF THIS IS A DREAM,” “THREE IN THE MORNING,” and “PROTECT ME.”

Never one to stagnate, a new year means a new chapter for k?d. “YOU AND ME” sees the gifted producer pairing hypnotic phonk-inspired melodies with an alluring house groove. Sultry vocals anchor the track, providing an emotional hook while stimulating the senses. Layered robotic voices add a futuristic appeal, deepening the inventive aesthetic. It’s a new-age love song, fitting right at home in any environment. Addictive, enticing, and original, k?d proves that he can master any sound that he chooses to explore.

Explaining his foray into the bubbling genre, k?d shares: “Phonk has been around for ages but it has recently had a lot of success and evolved into a newer sound with the internet. At the same time, I have also been getting into the car scene, building my first project car (this is actually the first time I started driving again in five years because I’ve been so busy touring). Naturally, the car community and phonk go hand-in-hand, so it was destined for me to make some phonk music for fun. As time went by, I noticed I haven’t seen phonk music translated that well at shows, with very few DJs playing it at festivals or clubs. So, I thought I should make a track that still has an electronic feel and can be played in those settings. This is the result of that idea.”

Few artists have experienced the astronomical growth seen by Florida’s own k?d. His single Lose Myself” charted top 10 on Billboard Dance and he’s been supported on Sirius XM. His music has been championed by some of the biggest names in electronic music including Illenium, Gryffin, Zeds Dead, Madeon, Kayzo, Dabin, and San Holo.

More About HARD Recs

Renowned for curating the most cutting-edge lineups, HARD has solidified itself as a cultural institution within the live events space by continuously staying at the forefront of the ever-evolving dance scene. In 2018, they extended this forward-thinking ethos into their first compilation album, ‘HARD Summer 2018,’ an 18-track package aimed at showcasing the most sought-after sounds in house, techno, bass, trap and hip-hop music. With the launch of their very own HARD Recs imprint, they are providing a platform for the artists sprawled across their many stages at HARD Summer, Holy Ship!, and Day of the Dead. As its first full-fledged artist signing, they recruited UK powerhouse JOYRYDE, who has since released a string of high-octane singles, which eventually led up to his massive debut studio album, ‘BRAVE.’ Good Times Ahead (fka GTA) has graced the catalog with 2019’s ‘Good Times Bad Times at Hard Summer’ mixtape, featuring a star-studded roster that brought together high-profile acts such as Flosstradamus, What So Not, and more. Grammy-nominated sensation Wuki has also been enlisted to the roster, with respective singles featuring Diplo, Snappy Jit, Stoppa, and Juvenile leading up to the forthcoming release of his debut studio album. The most recent artist invited to join the ranks is Portuguese bass music maestro HOLLY. With many more new signings coming down the pipeline, HARD Recs will remain dedicated to its mission of shining a light on established legends and on-fire newcomers alike from across the spectrum of contemporary music.
