Today, after a 1 year hiatus from releases, the incredibly agile electronic producer k?d is the first single from his forthcoming debut artist album on HARD Recs. On “RETURN TO NOTHINGNESS, the enigmatic producer effectively defies genre constraints with a futuristic amalgamation of vocoder synth chops, luminous melodies, sizzling 808s, and a spoken word android narration about creation.
Alongside the single, k?d released the first in a series of animations with world-renowned studio Herø Projects and BAMIBOY to bring the visual storyline of this album to life. In the video, we see our protagonist break free from a secret laboratory, with action-packed sequences of the iconic character fighting against security with martial arts, leaving a trail of bodies on the way out.
Few artists have seen the kind of growth that k?d has seen. The Florida-born producer and DJ went from attending his first festival as a fan in 2016 to performing at EDC Las Vegas’ circuitGROUNDS stage less than two years later. The young prodigy burst onto the scene with remixes of Daft Punk, Porter Robinson, RL Grime, Illenium, The Chainsmokers, and has since continued to develop his story.
k?d’s creativity is not limited to music though, as he incorporates his own imaginative illustrations and design in his music, live shows, merchandise, and more. His prolific genius has earned him the respect of fans and peers alike. His fervent fan base helped him sell out 75-percent of his first headline tour and have followed him around the globe to every destination festival worth crashing.
