Cuban-born, Ibiza-based Khenya returns to Pete Tong’s Places & Spaces with “Momento,” a rolling melodic record with a Latin texture, built on an original Spanish topline. Following “Unfold” in March, her second single for the label was road-tested across the Ibiza season during her Sunday residency at Blue Marlin, where it became a standout moment in her sets.
As main resident at Blue Marlin Ibiza, Khenya tours globally around her Sunday residency, with dates including Code Prive in Bulgaria and MDLBEAST’s Container in Saudi Arabia. She has played alongside Black Coffee, Dixon, Pete Tong, Damian Lazarus and Blond, and has co-signs from Black Coffee, Bedouin and THEMBA. Her track ‘Give It Up’ with THEMBA & The Goodmen spent 11 weeks at No.1 on Traxsource, and she has previously released on Ulu Records, MoBlack and Armada.
Speaking about the release, Khenya stated:
‘Momento’ is about the rare feeling of being so deeply connected that time seems to slow down, leaving only the present.
