Kx5’s Debut Single “Escape (feat. Hayla)” Receives Remix from Subtronics

Following remixes from John Summit and Spencer Brown, Kx5 (deadmau5 and Kaskade) turn to Subtronics for the latest official remix of their debut single “Escape (feat. Hayla),” out now on mau5trap. For the remix, he brings his one-of-a-kind blend of cutting-edge sound design and hard-hitting bass to Kx5’s glowing track.

The three artists charmed fans with the remix at EDC this past April when Kaskade and deadmau5 jumped on stage with Subtronics during his CIRCUITGrounds set which followed their debut performance as Kx5. This past weekend “Escape” remixers John Summit and Subtronics paired their versions together during their b2b at Electric Forrest. View the clip from Friday, June 24 when the Subtronics version was released here.

Subtronics shares, “I am beyond honored I was asked to remix ‘Escape’ by Kx5. I’ve always been a long-time fan of Kaskade and deadmau5, and having them join me on stage at EDCLV, where I debuted the track, was surreal. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone with this one to make it unique, while still staying authentic to myself, and I am very happy with how it turned out!”

About Subtronics:

A love for SUBwoofers and elecTRONICS has brought us Subtronics. Growing up in Philadelphia, PA, Jesse Kardon AKA Subtronics had a passion for his drum set and Radiohead. Fusing his unique blend of cutting-edge sound design with hard-hitting bass, Subtronics seeks to push the envelope with sound engineering. On the live front, he has built a rabid following with his high energy sets and advanced mixing skills. When his sell-out Cyclops Invasion Tour was cut short due to the global pandemic in 2020, Subtronics seized the opportunity to continue reaching new audiences. He became an official partner on Twitch, produced XR/VR live-stream sets, dropped a Splice Sample Pack, pioneered socially distanced drive-in and pod events with Monster Energy as a sponsor, and launched his very own label, Cyclops Recordings, in December of 2020.

Subtronics’ label is home to his last four EPs, as well as multiple compilations featuring the next generation of producers. In January of 2022, he dropped his debut album ‘FRACTALS’ which charted #4 on Billboard Dance Albums and had a dedicated billboard in Times Square. The album coincided with his massive 50+ date sell out national headline tour, The FRACTAL Tour, which features state-of-the-art production and visuals. The tour traveled with a custom-built stage, including a floating DJ table within a reflective black hole, dubbed ‘The Wormhole.’ Notable venues on the run include Gila River Arena, WaMu Theater, Coca Cola Roxy, Avant Gardner, Echostage, and more.

About Kaskade:

As a household name in electronic music for over two decades, multi GRAMMY Award-nominated musician Kaskade needs no introduction. His list of achievements is a mile long: 12 studio albums, seven GRAMMY nominations, the first solo electronic dance artist to sell out both Navy Pier in Chicago and the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the first DJ to ever secure a Las Vegas residency, the only DJ to have played the Grand Canyon West Skywalk, the only musician to conceptualize and create an entire season of music for video game giant Rocket League, headlining multiple live streams during quarantine, a Fortnite feature concert, and the first electronic artist to ever headline Coachella.

Less tangible but even more important has been his influence on dance music tastes and culture for generations of listeners. Often Kaskade is one of the artists who introduced now-veteran listeners to the genre, and such fans typically become evangelical fans for life. In 2019, he worked with multi-award winner Meghan Trainor on “With You,” Cheat Codes “Be the One” and Gorgon City on “Go Slow,” and official remixes for the likes of Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, and Gwen Stefani earlier. In 2020 Kaskade leaned into the mandatory time off from touring by releasing the most consecutive music, back-to-back of his career. Stay tuned for more moves from the original curve bender Kaskade.
