Today, Japanese-Australian electronic duo Lastlings, have released the first official “Out of Touch” remixes from their highly-acclaimed debut album, First Contact. French-Canadian producer CRi and ascending Atlanta-native Paraleven both deliver their own ethereal, club-focused interpretations of Lastlings’ original single “Out of Touch”. French-Canadian producer and live act CRi has quickly made his mark on the Montreal electronic scene by offering a singular sound influenced by house synths, syncopated snares and futuristic basslines. Having debuted on Anjunadeep in 2019, CRi quickly caught the ear of BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong and Annie Mac with his track “Initial”, which was also championed by KCRW’s Jason Bentley. His 2020 debut album “Juvenile” has amassed over 6 million streams to date and received LP remixes from legendary producer Gerd Janson and UK duo Icarus.
Paraleven has swiftly earned notoriety in electronic music through his artful intersection of musical elements native to melodic, deep and progressive house. He has seen several EP releases on genre figurehead Lane 8’s label This Never Happened, garnering millions of plays along with a North American tour with Lane 8 himself.
Lastlings’ “Out of Touch” remixes continue to further expand the First Contact universe following the recent success of their First Contact Acoustic EP. The First Contact Acoustic EP provided live instrumentative renditions of their hit tracks “No Time”, “Deja Vu”, “Take My Hand”, and “Out of Touch”, presenting a stripped back and deeply emotional touch.
Released this past November, First Contact remains massively received amongst fans and critics alike, earning 30 million streams across platforms and support from Forbes, Wonderland Mag, NME, triple j, and KCRW. Lastlings’ momentum spilled rapidly into 2021, kicking off the year with a feature on SG Lewis’ track “All We Have” from his recent full-length “Times” album followed by the honor of remixing Bob Moses’ “The Blame”.
