Setting the pace in proper peak-time fashion is the title track. “Found Someone” is a moody yet upbeat progressive record balancing emotion and sheer dancefloor power in perfect proportions. Its infectious, husky vocal hook is hypnotic, holding space with positive affirmations about finding a partner worthy of placing her faith in. The high spirits are mirrored through the track’s rhythmic kinesis, constructed with calculated measure. From the galloping basslines to the acid-tinged textures and the dark, euphoric synth lashes, it’s the type of record that can mend the hearts and minds of those seeking emotional restoration. “One Last Time” rounds out the B-side with its straightforward club appeal. It’s a darker counterpart to the brooding vocal-heavy lead, equipped with entrancing synth rattles and sawtooth low-end made to push crowds over the ledge.
Sharing her excitement about kicking off the year with a bang, Laura van Dam says, “I’m so excited to kick off my 2026 release calendar with my new EP on Dreamstate Records. This project creates a journey where melody drives you to a club feel.”
‘Found Someone’ is another astounding boost in what has already been a meteoric rise for the Dutch sensation. Between her formal background as an audio engineer to sharpening her chops as a label A&R and enjoying a breakthrough year in 2023 on the producer front, Laura van Dam has established herself as a force to be reckoned with. Last summer, she surfaced on the Dreamstate label with her collab “Holding On” alongside Q.U.A.K.E, garnering radio support from trusted tastemakers from the likes of Armin van Buuren, Joris Voorn, Andrew Rayel, Markus Schulz, and more.
On the live front, Laura van Dam is continually raising the bar for herself. She’s already established a globetrotting presence from high-profile sets at EDC Las Vegas, Dreamstate San Francisco, Tomorrowland, AURA, Red Rocks, Printworks, and Ushuaïa Ibiza. Within the next few months, she will be descending upon the lauded ‘A State of Trance’ Rotterdam festival, as well as hosting a string of shows in Brazil at Club 415 and Laroc Club Guarujá.
With the ‘Found Someone’ EP, Laura van Dam reveals a darker, club-focused edge to her craft, while retaining the emotional euphoria that sent her on an unstoppable trajectory in the trance and progressive spheres.
Laura van Dam’s new EP “Found Someone” is available on all platforms via Dreamstate Records.
