Leftfield are celebrating their 35th anniversary with four upcoming UK shows in two cities.
Founded in 1988, the influential project of Paul Daley and Neil Barnes, who now leads Leftfield solo, will return to London’s O2 Academy Brixton for two nights next May. Barnes will take over the setting of one of Leftfield’s most infamous gigs, in June 1996, on the 30th and 31st of May, 2025, under the ‘Leftism’ & Beyond banner.
Then, Leftfield will head north to perform two shows at Glasgow’s Barrowlands on 6th and 7th June.
“It will be 35 years since I released the first Leftfield track, ‘Not Forgotten’, and 30 years of ‘Leftism'”, which was reissued on vinyl alongside ‘Rhythm & Stealth’ in 2023, Barnes said in a press statement. “It feels like the perfect time to celebrate. Brixton Academy and Glasgow Barrowlands are the only places that felt right for us to blow the roofs off… Let’s make it unforgettable.”
Leftfield released a remix EP for their track with Grian Chatten ‘Full Way Round’, which featured on the 2022 album, ‘This Is What We Do’, last month.
In September, Leftfield joined Orbital for a co-headlining live show at Margate’s Dreamland.
Last Christmas, Barnes donated 500 records from his personal collection to a Christmas charity auction programme in northern England.
