Unrelenting and vigorous, the five tracks on ‘The Things Aren’t Changing Like They Should’ EP carry on from his previous release for Symbolism, which Sims described as ‘Heavyweight stuff. These are the tracks I play when I want the crowd to go crazy’. From the frenetic and fluttering keys of the title track and ‘AMPM’s percussive onslaught, the stuttered rhythm/stab powered ‘Wanna Be A Cosmonaut’ and gritty, abrasive funk of ‘La Esperanza’, Lidvall takes no prisoners here. Even when taking this a little ‘late night’, like on closer ‘No Te Imaginas lo Viejismo Que Soy!’, the dance floor weight shines through.
With releases on Mord, Soma and Edit Select to name just a handful, Lidvall’s pedigree is strong and with releases like ‘The Things Aren’t Changing Like They Should’, it’s no surprise why.
