Life is Better Blonde celebrates return with spliced-up disco mess ‘Habits’

Staying true to his flamboyant form, Melbourne crooner and electro beat maker Life is Better Blonde (LIBB) re-introduces himself this year with a chaotic disco-eque track titled ‘Habits’, out on 18th November.

His first release since mid-pandemic, ‘Habits’ doubles down on the crooked electronica he is known for, which saw him win a J-Award in 2015 and land in Jamz Supernova’s BBC Radio1Extra Top 5 of Future R&B.

Coupled with hedonistic artwork, LIBB says the song came out of a period of leaning into a lifestyle of unhealthy excess and substance use. “Where my first songs were a quiet but cathartic release of my inner demons and darkness, this track is all about trying to feel good against all odds – the darkness is still there in heavy swathes but it’s very much a party anthem for all the broken souls out there”.

Life is Better Blonde exploded onto the Australian music scene with his debut single ‘Mine’, sending a buzz all the way from Triple J (JAward Best Music Vid) to the BBC on Jamz Supernova’s Radio 1 XTRA’s Top 5 ‘World of Future R&B’.

“A song so good you might wanna kiss it ★★★★★ ” – Richard Kingsmill, Triple J

Drawing wide praise from influential media, featuring on IndieShuffle, Clash Magazine, Huffington Post, Clash, Complex, EarMilk and RAGE, LIBB solidified his impact globally with his single ‘Swim Good’ that quickly raked in 2 million streams, paving significant inroads for LIBB in the international electronic and new R&B genres.

He continues to receive accolades, notably for his 2019 single ‘Strange Organism’ and his isolation project ‘SAD’ released mid lockdown of 2020, both heavily curated on Spotify and Apple Music editorial playlists. Known for his uncompromising originality, he is frequently featured on tastemaker blogs and radio programmes globally.

‘Habits’ is the first single taken from LIBB’s upcoming EP, slated for release early 2023.
