Loco Dice heads into the after-hours with latest single on Desolat ‘The Night Is Yours’.

Loco Dice continues his return to Desolat this October with ‘The Night Is Yours’, the third drop in a run that has seen the label founder move through different corners of his musical world. Where ‘Hold Up (You Feel That)’ brought him back to the imprint with a direct, stripped-back club cut and ‘Eyes On Me’ drew openly on UK rap, grime and his long-standing hip-hop references, his latest release shifts into late-night, after-hours territory.

‘The Night Is Yours’ pulls Dice into a sweaty, sensual space shaped around love, groove and the closeness of the dancefloor. Shaped for the after-hours, the track trades spectacle for atmosphere, tapping into the kind of room where the distance between DJ and crowd disappears and the night takes on a life of its own.

Taken together, Dice’s latest run of releases has offered a sharp reminder of the range that has always sat behind his music. His early years immersed in hip-hop, touring alongside the likes of Snoop Dogg, Death Row Crew and Ice Cube, have ensured rhythmic language never disappeared as his career moved deeper into house and techno. Rather than separating those histories, releases such as ‘Eyes On Me’ have brought them directly into his current output, while ‘The Night Is Yours’ reconnects with the late-night club spaces that have been equally central to his career.

That ability to move between worlds has defined Dice for more than two decades. From 2002’s ‘Phat Dope Shit’ and debut album ‘7 Dunham Place’ through to ‘Underground Sound Suicide’, ‘Love Letters’ and his latest LP ‘Purple Jam’, his catalogue has repeatedly crossed between house, techno and hip-hop while bringing in collaborators ranging from Skrillex, Fireboy DML and Giggs to Carl Cox, Neneh Cherry and Just Blaze. Away from the studio, the same outlook has extended into fashion, visual culture and projects with the likes of Daily Paper, New Era and Marcelo Burlon.
