London-based producer COHN and French DJ Shay Shaz have joined forces for their debut collaborative EP, Tok Tok – a genre-blending release that channels the energy of 90s house and the free-spirited ethos of queer club culture.
Out now on Butter & Wine, a label known for its eclectic, boundary-pushing approach to electronic music, Tok Tok seamlessly merges their unique influences, creating a collection that’s as diverse as it is danceable.
Lead track “Tok Tok” captures the EP’s core message with its empowering mantra, “be yourself,” wrapped in a punchy, nostalgia-tinged 90s house groove. Alongside it, COHN’s “Tiger & Tuna” offers a taste of his club-focused style, while Shay Shaz’s track nods to his roots in the 80s fashion markets, drawing sonic inspiration from Patrick Cowley’s iconic sound. Rounding off the EP is a special vocal mix, purpose-built for club dancefloors.
