Jerome Sydenham is an electronic music visionary who has worked across the industry for more than 30 years. He has gone from A&Ring Atlantic Records in his youth to heading up his own crucial Ibadan label while also releasing on plenty of influential outlets and DJing at every major club and festival in the world. His ever-evolving sound draws on his Nigerian heritage and has consistently maintained an almost impossibly high standard. The brilliantly potent ‘Walk the Dog’ is a tight, driving techno workout with rigid synth loops and eerie bells. It features Cosmic Soldier, whose menacing yet alluring vocals instruct someone how to behave. Add in the weighty bassline and you have an immediately timeless deep techno classic. Sydenham then remixes his own cut and flips it into something more bouncy and raw. The vocals are chopped into tiny looped fragments and there is a little more funk in the kicks that will get dancefloors marching as one.
