Zoe Kypri on Crosstown Rebels, garnering high praise from BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong and DJ Mag, with the live studio performance picking up over fifteen million views. The London-based artist, songwriter and DJ/producer now follows up his 2023 remix of Bedouin’s ‘Hokema’ on Human By Default, returning alongside Berlin-based live-act and multi-instrumentalist Blindsmyth for ‘Run With Me’.
“Run With Me is a deep and trippy record. The lead line is very simple melodically, but it’s played off-grid to give it a wonky rhythm. I explored a new delay effect, freezing it and modulating the time parameters to get the overall effect. At the time I was writing it, I had been listening to Blindsmyth’s album and really loved his sound. His vocal tone was a perfect fit, so I’m really happy he agreed to collaborate on the project with me.” – Made By Pete.
‘Run With Me’ is a stripped-back sound with smoky pads and organic percussion drawing you in deep as Blindsmyth’s hushed vocals add alluring intimacy next to trippy synths rising up and down the scale. ‘Dream Sequence’ sees Made By Pete go solo, delivering a sweeping House groove with shimmering synths that bring celestial energy to the shuffling drums.
