Inspired By The ’70s And ’80s Dance Culture, This New Release Pairs Soulful Vocals With Modern Electronic Production.
On Friday, October 2nd, Deep Root Records releases ‘Disco Ball’, the latest track from Manos Gavras, featuring singer Anduze.
‘Disco Ball’ is a tight nu-disco cut driven by a funky bassline, electric guitars, organic percussion, soulful vocals, and shimmering synths. It brings classic disco warmth into a modern club setting. Groovy, sensual, and built to move.
Inspired by the carefree spirit of the late ’70s and early ’80s, Gavras imagined a summer night in the Bronx: A boombox, a neighbourhood gathering, and music bringing everyone together. The chorus also carries a subtle rhythmic nod to ‘Gypsy Woman’, reworked into something completely original. A proper dancefloor record with character, ‘Disco Ball’ sits between disco, nu-disco and synth-pop, keeping the soul of its influences while sounding fresh and current; one for the DJs who know exactly when to drop it.
Manos Gavras is a Greek multidisciplinary artist whose journey spans music, acting, entrepreneurship, and storytelling. He began his artistic path as a musician, playing guitar, percussion, and later piano in bands, before building a diverse career in acting, hospitality ventures, and children’s literature. Today, he returns to music, his first love, exploring electronic dance sounds from his Athens-based studio.
