Female empowering, multi-faceted artist MARLEE XX delivers her enitcing and booming house-tinged affair ‘Take It Back.

A woman of many talents, Marlee XX is a powerhouse entertainer, vocalist, songwriter, producer and DJ with a distinctive style, ranging from sonically versatile to crossover pop and genre-bending releases. Born and raised in the nation’s capital and its surrounding Maryland and Virginia counties, Marlee has been at the forefront in the music scene since her teenage years. As a DJ, Marlee has worked for iconic brands and maintained residences for Versace, GUESS, and Kilian Paris.

A renowned fearless fashionista, Marlee is unapologetic in her self-expression with a bold personal style. A major part of her mission is to empower women in music, push visibility of females in leadership positions, and to create safe, equal opportunities for women in the music industry with her latest single ‘Take It Back’ serving listeners with a fierce and fruitful slice of house meets pop.

Marlee XX’s newest release ‘Take It Back’ is a record full of energy and attitude. Dubby chords fuse with euphoric pads and warped melodies to get listeners moving, whilst precise percussion combines with high-frequency bursts and delicate vocals to add another sure-fire addition to this dynamic offering. It’s a track that takes the blossoming artists’ repertoire to the next level with strong house influences to keep fans and listeners alike locked in.

Since relocating to Los Angeles in 2019, the rising star has ventured into TV, film and ad music, landing multiple licensing deals and becoming a representative at ‘Girls Make Beats’, an organisation empowering the next generation of female artists. 

Amongst many accomplishments, she held a successful two year residency with her band ‘Marlee In the Mixx’ at Indulj On U Street in D.C, and performed in venues across the US and internationally at Afropunk’s Battle of the Bands, SOB’s in New York City, Hollywood’s legendary Whisky a Go-Goas , and as co-headliners at the Essence of Seoul festival in Seoul, South Korea, before going solo in 2017.
