(LOS ANGELES, CA – MARCH 25, 2025) – After years of shaping hits behind the scenes, Los Angeles-based producer and DJ MARZI steps into the spotlight with “Dancing & Crying,” his latest evolution in sound, arriving March 25 via Modern Delivery, a brand new dance & electronic label. With a background in hip-hop production that earned him a GRAMMY nomination, MARZI’s evolution into dance music marks a defining new chapter in his career.
MARZI’s musical journey has been shaped by a deep-rooted passion for both hip-hop and electronic music. Having worked behind the scenes with major artists like 6lack, Swae Lee, Nav, and Travis Scott, MARZI eventually felt the urge to create music that was entirely his own. “I started this project because I was fed up with working with artists strictly for their projects; I got tired of putting my future in other peoples’ hands and putting my dreams on hold. I ended up growing out of the rap scene that I grew up in, and my taste started evolving into something new.”
The inspiration for “Dancing & Crying” stems from a melody that had been stuck in MARZI’s head for years as a piece originally conceived in the hip-hop world that he reimagined through the lens of house music. The track’s emotive piano melodies and pulsating rhythm are influenced by an unforgettable experience at Porter Robinson’s Hard Summer performance, where MARZI witnessed the emotional connection between music and the audience. “This song has been stuck in the back of my head for years, so to finally be able to finalize it and release it to the world is very satisfying.”
MARZI has also introduced a distinctive production style that bridges his hip-hop roots with house music, crafting custom drum kits to create dynamic, live-sounding percussion fills that set his tracks apart. “Live drum fills aren’t unheard of in dance music, but I think they are underused; I really want my music to have these live elements combined with modern synths and production styles to make something new and unique.”
With “Dancing & Crying,” MARZI establishes himself as an exciting new voice in dance music, pushing the boundaries of sound and emotion. This release is just the beginning of what’s to come from both MARZI and Modern Delivery.

L.A. based MARZI isn’t new to the music scene. With a background producing for some of the biggest names in rap and hip hop, his talents even garnered him a Grammy nomination for his production work. Growing up, MARZI was surrounded by music. He was heavily influenced by the hip hop and electronic music scenes, and spent hours in the studio experimenting with different sounds and styles. As he developed his skills and found his voice, MARZI began to focus on creating and djing music that was true to his own style, incorporating elements of both hip hop and house music into his tracks.
