Matroda Raises the Stakes With Weighty, Club-Ready House Music Single “About To Lose It” on Insomniac Records

House music mastermind Matroda returns to Insomniac Records with another hefty four-on-the-floor heater, “About To Lose It.” The title is fitting beyond belief, because anyone who hears this track on club speakers will undoubtedly leave it all out on the dancefloor, washing away any worry as the ripping bassline takes control.

Keeping up with Matroda has, and always will be a fool’s errand. He’s been constantly cranking out club cuts at a lightning-fast speed, all of which have made his signature “matrodasound” a staple of modern dance music for over a decade. With the sensibilities he’s earned from studying violin, drums, and piano, he defines his aesthetic by combining striking vocals with diverse house beats. Whether they are sleek and chunky like on the epically melodic “Forget It,” or deep and tightly-woven like on his remix of Tiga and Audion’s bona-fide classic “Let’s Go Dancing” (both standout releases from his stellar run on Insomniac Records), his productions harness the power to subdue the soul with their infectious grooves.

“About To Lose It All” builds on this familiar formula that has been perfected by the dancefloor kingpin, yet allowing him to show he still has some tricks left up his sleeve. The track begins with a soaring soulful singer who establishes the mood with captivating vocal belts that are warm and inviting, but also full of energy. Then, Matroda morphs her final riff into an electrifying melody, flickering above an active, buzzing bassline that leads into a blood-pumping breakdown. From there, he strips away the drums to leave the low-end alone for a few moments in its grinding mechanical glory before the drop returns to close out the track in supreme style.

Never one for slowing down, 2025 is still young and this will already be Matroda’s second release—the first being his deep tech single, “Good Girls” on his own label Terminal Underground. He’s also looking towards a packed tour schedule for the year ahead, which includes lauded festival bookings like EDC Mexico, Skyline, and Project Glow. As far as solo headlines, he’ll be hitting well-respected venues such as the Observatory SoCal and The Caverns in Tennessee, in addition to sitting at the helm of a residency at LIV Las Vegas and returning to his home country of Croatia to play Oasis at Noa Beach Club.

Based on his nonstop output, Matroda seemingly lives every day like he’s “About To Lose It.” He is constantly pushing his signature sound into new directions, and this new single will continue his illustrious reputation as one of the most consistent artists from today’s house music circuit.

Matroda’s new single “About To Lose It” is available on all platforms via Insomniac Records.
