Despite being a new kid on the block, Max Kilian has already turned the heads of heavyweights like Mau P, The Martinez Brothers, Josh Baker, and East End Dubs with his sleek, minimal-leaning house flavours. Recent appearances at E1 London, Pacha Barcelona, and Dutch events such as Free Your Mind and Loveland, have firmly positioned him as one to watch. Now, Kilian marks a major milestone with his first full EP, landing on Repopulate Mars with a three-track package that explores stripped-back, late-night club territory.
“The ‘Freaks’ EP contains three tracks for when behaving stops being an option.” – Max Kilian
Opener ‘Freaks’ fits perfectly within the Repopulate Mars sonic world while adding something fresh: it’s tight, bass-driven tech house with evocative sci-fi pads and vocals that add a sleazy edge. The punchy ‘God Damn’ is economical but effective with rubbery drums and bass moving at an infectious pace beneath wispy pads and a smattering of dry percussion. Quiet, kinky vocals bring it to life with a mischievous late-night spirit. Closer ‘Rockin’ is a wobbly, off-grid sound with hip-hop vocal attitude and rolling bass that never lets up. It’s a futuristic house sound with crisp sound design, making every beat pop.
Max Kilian ‘Freaks’ EP drops via Repopulate Mars on 30th January 2026.
