Micah Baxter collab with Sillva & JO E for ‘Nasty Girl’ EP on Repopulate Mars

Micah Baxter heads up Gritty Records and is part of a new wave of UK artists who are bringing plenty of innovation to minimal-leaning house. His deep grooves are stripped back but high in impact and sound design quality, and have found their way onto the USBs of artists like Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers, and Marco Carola. First up here, he works with Sillva, a New Orleans-based Spanish artist who blurs sub-genres into his singular take on deep tech grooves. Their ‘Nasty Girl’ is tightly coiled and sleazy tech with a classic r&b vocal sample that brings the edge. The drums hit hard with rolling bass and warped synths fleshing out this muscular and irresistible groove.

“This ep was inspired by old school tracks, re-invented with a brand new 2025 deep twist, on a label that was one of the first to introduce me to this sound when I started going raving.” – Micah Baxter.

“’Nasty Girl’ is a tribute to raw confidence, attitude, and unapologetic energy. It was born in the late night studio haze where groove meets grit. This one’s for the bold, the wild, and the ones who don’t play by the rules.” – Sillva.

Baxter then works with JO. E, a breakout talent making waves with early tunes on the likes of Intentions Records. Together they cook up the future facing sounds of ‘Deep Shit’, with synths spanning the horizon as fat, bulbous bass and ice-cold drums bring the rhythm under a moody spoken word vocal that pays homage to house innovators.

Micah Baxter, Sillva & JO E ‘Nasty Girl’ EP drops via Repopulate Mars on 25th July 2025.
