A thrilling 6-track collection of MYTHM’s twisted, maniacal sounds, Shadows takes his dark and distorted bass to the next level. Opening with the titular track ‘Shadows’, the EP unravels with an overload of ominous basslines and hard-hitting vocal samples as it slithers through the tantalizing tones of the Reservoir Dogs-inspired single ‘Bloodhound’, the glitch-heavy drops of ‘Mad Acid’, and the lowkey elements of ‘Flatline’. The EP also enlists fellow Canadian ColtCuts on ‘Venom’ and Netherlands-based Swift on ‘Usual Suspects’. Continuing to experiment with structure and sound design, Shadows sees MYTHM’s off-kilter bass style evolving over each track and offering the dynamic range within bass music that has made him a perfect fit for the growing HypnoVizion family.

Vancouver-based dubstep producer MYTHM (a.k.a Mikey Miele) is quickly becoming a talent to watch with his experimental sound and cross-genre approach. Taking inspiration from dubstep, grime, drum and bass, and hip-hop, MYTHM incorporates both analog and modular gear into his sound design, using hands-on hardware to create otherworldly soundscapes and audible distortions. His consistent, quality releases have earned him support from the likes of Zeds Dead, Liquid Stranger, and Peekaboo, and his high-energy live performances have taken him to the stages of major music festivals like Shambhala, Lost Lands, Lightning In a Bottle, Bass Canyon, Infrasound and Beyond Wonderland.
