New Lisbon-born club project BLOQO unveils debut release on Enchufada

After many years working adjacent to one another as solo artists and producing for others, two seasoned producers, Branko and Pedro da Linha, have joined forces to make direct, club-first music that pays homage to the records and moments that shaped their formative years. The first two-track 12″ featuring ‘Bloqo (Dan Dan)’ and ‘Fever’ lands on Enchufada on 17 October, with an EP on Aus Music to follow in November.

Born from late-night studio sessions and long conversations over dinner, BLOQO is less about music enriched with a Lisbon-centric DNA and more about personal artistic expression. As the duo describes it, the project was conceived as a way to distil the influential musical worlds they’ve already built as solo artists and producers. BLOQO is a liberation and a new place to reconnect with the pure, instinctive act of making tracks for dancefloors. The result is music shaped by decades of DJ residencies, rave memories, and a shared love of the universal melody and rhythms that keep a crowd hooked.

Rather than rewriting their histories, BLOQO reframes them. Branko and Pedro draw openly from records that, over many years, have moved them in Lisbon clubs and translate those influences into tight, floor-facing productions. Their new four-to-the-floor tracks and open-format rhythms nod to house and techno while keeping the duo’s signature textural and polyrhythmic instincts intact. BLOQO’s early studio sessions have been fluid: one idea sparks a reaction, one tweak prompts another, and the tracks are built as conversations, often with the artists surprising one another, and always pushing the music forward.

The first release on Enchufada is an introduction to BLOQO with subtle, recognisable motifs from previous solo work. It draws inspiration from fond memories of first hearing Carl Craig’s remix of Cesária Évora’s ‘Angola’ – a moment that opened their ears to new musical possibilities. ‘Bloqo (Dun Dun)’ rides on heavy, propulsive drums, layered with crisp percussion, sharp claps, and a sizzling synth lead that drives irresistible movement. ‘Fever’ follows with a deep, full-bodied club cut built on cavernous drums and bass, where sultry vocal textures weave through a Latin-inflected rhythm to create an elastic, sun-baked groove.

Branko and Pedro da Linha are two Lisbon-based producers with extensive histories as DJs, producers and scene builders. Enchufada founder Branko is best known for co-founding Buraka Som Sistema and for shaping Lisbon’s part in the global club conversation by blending local sounds with wider European influences. Fellow mainstay Pedro da Linha is one of the city’s most inventive producers. He has held several key club residencies and released standout EPs and LPs on Enchufada. Both producers had increasingly drifted toward live instrumentation, collaborations, and conceptual explorations. BLOQO is their way of getting back to making the pure club music that defines them most, with more to come on UK label Aus Music before the end of the year.

BLOQO ‘Bloqo (Dan Dan)’ drops via Enchufada on 17th October 2025.
