Brand new synth-pop singer-songwriter Segiri is poised to announce her debut release with the arrival of ‘Chances’ in January 2020. Drawing on a myriad of influences ranging from pop, soul to R&B, Segiri’s music is laced with lively, high spirited songwriting alongside emotive pop melodies.
She says: “It’s an amazing feeling finally having a release date for my debut single. The producer and I had so much fun putting this track together. We were in the studio playing around with a bunch of different vibes but as soon as he played me the beginning of this one I knew that was the one! The song is really playful and full of attitude…it sums up my personality well!”
Segiri grew up in India to a seafaring Swiss Father and Indian artist Mother. She moved to London at the age of 18 to study Law at the London School of Economics. Her background growing up meant she was exposed to many different styles of music including everything from South Indian film music to Beyoncé & Amerie. As a singer she experimented with many different styles, fusing Indian rhythm with singing scales and Pop/R&B infused beats from the UK and US.
