‘Gorgeous’ is the newest single from Nicole Moudaber and Risa Taniguchi, joining forces for the first time to kickstart 2025 for the former’s MOOD imprint. It follows Taniguchi’s ‘Look At Hatred’ EP on the label, which won support from artists like Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Joseph Capriati, Truncate, and Lady Tazz.
Nicole Moudaber & Risa Taniguchi’s ‘Gorgeous’ features tight, pounding kickdrums perfectly mixed with rattling lasers above, a hypnotising vocal sitting somewhere between past and future as dystopian atmospherics echo through the warehouse. Acid bubbles to the surface, while snappy percussion keeps the rhythm speeding forward – this is another prime-time offering from the MOOD label.
At the forefront of the Japanese techno scene, the Tokyo-based Risa Taniguchi has had an incredible 2024, becoming a core
member of both Chris Liebing’s CLR via a series of releases, as well as Nicole Moudaber’s label later in the year. In both her productions and her mixes, she blends dark, lo-fi sound, distorted textures, and a slow-burning energy that always hits the mark.
Nicole Moudaber launched MOOD Records in 2013, accompanying her award-winning weekly InTheMood radio show for over a decade.
