“I Miss You” is a melodic bass magnum opus that has been 10 years in the making. The breakup ballad explores the arc from feeling empty in the wake of losing a loved one to finding comfort in accepting their absence. The breathy vocal bends are layered with poignant piano chords and sweeping atmospherics, lending themselves as a gripping cinematic backdrop. Punchy drum hits build anticipation as the beautiful orchestral composition evolves into a cathartic explosion of emotion. Screaming synths unleash waves of color and pain, seething beneath pounding percussion and heartfelt vocal layers. Beauty and agony are intertwined, creating a duality that explores the tension of moving forward while carrying the ghost of that special someone who’s no longer around.
Nikademis opens up about what inspired the collaboration, saying, “‘I Miss You’ for me is a soliloquy of loss. What I believe is so meaningful about this song is the equivocal theme that it conveys. Many of us, in life, mourn the loss of something more than anything else, whether it be the loss of a relationship, a loss of a friendship, or the passing of a loved one. ‘I Miss You’ conveys this story of loss in a more meaningful manner than any song I’ve ever worked on, and I hope listeners will resonate with the feelings and emotions it invokes just as much as Andy, Elle and I did when writing the song.”
ANDY KAUTZ adds his perspective on the release, explaining, “‘I Miss You’ is my heart poured out over 10 years, wrestling with the truth that a love I cherished is gone forever. It’s not just about losing someone—it’s about learning to live with the quiet ache of their absence, still feeling them in every corner of my soul while knowing they’re no longer mine.”
Hailing from Denver, Nikademis has been captivating crowds with his dark, mysterious soundscapes and contrastingly empowering melodies and vocals. He made his debut on Heaven Sent alongside label-heads SLANDER and acclaimed artist Poo Bear, with the festival-favorite “If Tomorrow Never Happens.” The track has gained more than 2 million streams, while garnering press coverage from EDM.com, The Nocturnal Times, DJ Life Mag, CULTR, DJ Lovers Club, and EDM Tunes. He has crafted remixes for top-tier talents like Dabin, Big Gigantic, and HALIENE, in addition to offering tour support for heavy-hitters Blanke, yetep, and William Black.
Originally from Oregon but currently residing in Las Vegas, ANDY KAUTZ is a classically trained pianist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. He’s been carving out his own lane with a sound that blends cinematic bass with a natural instinct for pop-friendly productions. He developed his skills as a songwriter when he was signed by Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins and Sony BMG. KAUTZ has previously appeared on Lost In Dreams Records alongside Elle Vee and Synymata on “Army of Angels” released back in 2022, and co-wrote “Never Give Up On You,” released on Heaven Sent in 2023 alongside SLANDER, Synymata, and Elle Vee.
Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Elle Vee is a powerful voice in the dance scene who has created a stronghold within the realms of trance, dubstep, house, melodic bass, and more. She made her debut on the label in 2021 with her stellar single “Where Does Love Go” with Synymata. Elsewhere, she has also collaborated with some of the scene’s brightest stars, including SLANDER, Nurko, MitiS, and Ferry Corsten, while racking up over 205 million streams across her catalog.
“I Miss You” is a masterclass in duality, balancing a deep feeling of yearning with a cathartic sense of release.
