Listen here.

With girl EDM (disc 1), Ninajirachi continues to push the boundaries of electronic music, crafting a sound that resonates globally, and firmly establishing her as a leading voice in the new wave of electronic artists. Following the success of her 2023 4×4 EP and 2024 girl EDM EP, her 10-track girl EDM (disc 1) LP dives deeper into the electronic soundscapes that first captivated Ninajirachi as a young producer. The album revisits the energy and textures of late 2000s and early 2010s dance music, infusing them with her signature icy, glitch-infused style. The project dissects and reconstructs elements of hard dance, electro house, progressive house, and trance, offering a fresh, left-field perspective that is uniquely Ninajirachi.

Joining forces with NYC-based duo MGNA Crrrta, Ninajirachi’s “Angel Music” is a pivotal moment in her latest LP, seamlessly blending the distinct styles of both artists to create a vibrant fusion of golden-era electro-pop. Characterized by its pulsating basslines and lively synth leads, the track thrives on a mutual passion for musical innovation and collaboration. It’s a dynamic convergence of Ninajirachi’s experimental edge and MGNA Crrrta’s melodic flair, resulting in a track that is as infectious as it is boundary-pushing.

Speaking on her “Angel Music” with MGNA Crrrta, Ninajirachi shares: “We did a tour of America together in Jan/Feb 2024 and made this song in New York, then I played it at EDC and knew we had to finish it. MGNA Crrrta are sooooo brilliant and adventurous, their music, videos, shows, everything I’m so obsessed and inspired by them. ‘Angel Music’ sounds like both of us. It’s sooooo girl edm.” MGNA Crrrta continues, “There are girls and there is EDM and there is Ninajirachi and MGNA CRRRTA…This is an international collaboration and lifestyle experience…Nina is a beacon for girl dance and EDM.”

Girl EDM (disc 1) additionally includes fan favorite singles like the hard dance-leaning “Hand on my heart” and avant-electro “Ninacamina” featuring Izzy Camina, and title track “girl EDM,” a sweltering synth-pop/electro-house fusion. All songs continue the album’s exploration of defying expectations and embracing high-energy production. “Ninacamina” was recently supported by Caroline Polachek, who included the hit single in her iconic IF U PLZ playlistGirl EDM (disc 1) not only extends Ninajirachi’s artistic vision but also sparks a broader conversation about the role of producers, especially female producers, in the EDM scene.

“It’s just girl EDM…You get it or you don’t,” said Ninajirachi. “People love to ask artists how they’d describe their sound, and recently I realised mine is literally girl EDM. EDM was the music that first made me want to become a producer when I was a 12 year old in 2012. My taste grew and changed but EDM and dance pop raised me and so many in my generation.”

With the release of girl EDM (disc 1), Ninajirachi solidifies her status in both the Australian music scene and on the global stage. Her 4×4 EP in 2023 marked a significant artistic milestone, earning accolades from top outlets including triple j, Crack Magazine, and Billboard. This followed her 2022 debut mixtape Second Nature, which garnered critical acclaim, including a cover story with NME Magazine Australia, year-end accolades from The Guardian Australia, Apple Music, and NME, and a nomination for Record of the Year at FBi Radio’s SMAC Awards.

Ninajirachi has made festival appearances at Lollapalooza, Hard Summer, Imagine Festival, and Breakaway Festival. On August 30, she performed with Rezz at Red Rocks.

About Ninajirachi:

At only 25 years old, Ninajirachi has raised a flag for the new generation of Australian electronic artists on the international stage, from festival appearances at Lollapalooza, EDC and Spilt Milk, to sold out headline shows on both sides of the Pacific Ocean.

Growing up in a small town on the Central Coast of Australia, Nina was surrounded by rugged beaches and otherworldly natural wonders. Like many in her cohort, she was raised on the internet, obsessed with video games, fantasy worlds and software. By her teens, Nina was a self-taught music producer earning millions of streams online, drawing from her diverse obsessions to forge a sound she now describes as ‘girl EDM.’ “My first musical heroes were Lady Gaga and Porter Robinson,” says Nina. “I’m obsessed with music technology. I feel limitless in what I can make just with my computer.”

At age 16, Nina took a fortuitous trip to Sydney where she volunteered at FBi Radio, discovering artists like SOPHIE, Grimes and Holly Herndon. Shortly after, she met Nina Las Vegas at a Diplo event, eventually signing to Nina Las Vegas’ NLV Records, with a string of EPs that earned her widespread critical praise and support slots for artists like Charlie xcx and Cashmere Cat.

She was deemed an artist to watch by Billboard Dance, her ‘True North’ EP was named in The Atlantic’s top 10 albums of 2021, and her first mixtape ‘Second Nature’ earned her the cover of NME Magazine and EDM.com listing her in the Top Producers of 2022.
