At 1980 draw us into the final stages of a relationship, with the delicately cascading synths of ‘We Were On Fire’ providing an elegant backdrop for bittersweet memories. Between nostalgia, romance and the unmistakable knowledge that the next step is letting go, we’re lead down a lonely road of iconic saxophones and wistful vocals. In the LP, At 1980 take us back to the year founding member Adrian Michelena was born, when records were king and bright neon colours marked every fashionista’s wardrobe.

“We Were On Fire is the lyrical embodiment of the feeling and the mood of our album. The opening line of the song ‘All these late-night phone calls’ was where we took the album title from. The song tells a story of falling out of touch with an old flame and reminiscing over the good times that still live on as memories.”Josh Dally shares his thoughts on the unique track.
