The vibrant debut single ‘Queen Of Hearts’ serves as a perfect introduction to Commons’ distinctive indie-rock sound, seamlessly weaving together lush electronic atmospherics with the band’s energetic rock sensibilities. Opening with a reverb soaked steel drum synth, the track introduces overlapping guitar lines before bursting live as punching drums, urgent, expressive vocals and grounding bass join, as the guitar riffs grow more distorted and the bands alt-rock tendencies shine through.

As the track develops the vocals move in and out of falsetto as the soundscape enters a psychedelic, otherworldly realm before tightening up once again  into the angular verse. Sonicly the result is a track which sits somewhere between Kasabian, Foals and Bloc Party.

Capturing not only an exciting sense of energy, musical maturity and infectious melodies, the track also packs a warming sense of emotional depth which gives the track a warming sincerity.

Speaking about the single the band explain: “The song Queen Of Hearts at its core is a song about a ‘man eater’ of a woman who doesn’t care who’s hearts she breaks, as long as she eventually gets what she wants.”

Having already captivated audiences with their electrifying live performances, including a sold-out show at Beat The Streets Festival in January. With upcoming live dates, including a headline show at Rough Trade Nottingham on June 8th, Commons are poised to explode onto the scene.

Upcoming Live Dates:

April 25th – The Bodega Nottingham w/ The Family Rain

June 8th – Rough Trade Nottingham (EP Release Headline Show)
July 4th – Silverstone F1 Festival (The Craft Beer Tent Stage)
