“SPLINTER” is a powerful fusion of trap and experimental bass, showcasing both producers’ technical prowess. Acid-tinged synths intertwine with wailing sirens and haunting music box melodies, creating a track that shifts seamlessly between unsettling tension and frenetic energy. A driving four-on-the-floor rhythm underpins the skull-cracking drops, blending darker bass elements with moments of pure rave energy.
VARI touches on the effortless process that went into the collab: “NVADRZ has been one of my favorite artists in the bass music space for a good while. So, when it came up to work on a track together, I knew something great would come from it. After hearing the initial demo, things came together super smoothly, with the end result being a hard-hitting track that blends elements of both of our styles perfectly.”
Slovenia’s hottest bass export NVADRZ has been pillaging the dubstep circuit with a signature style that pulls from his love for ‘90s grunge, nu-metal, and punk rock. The rock ‘n’ roll perspective has helped shape his defiant take on bass music, which has led to remix credits for heavyweights like Crankdat and Habstrakt, as well as support from industry titans such as Excision and DJ Diesel.
Hailing from Tulsa, Oklahoma, VARI is an artist that has become notorious for pulling off the unthinkable when it comes to blending dance genres. Staying true to his name, variation is something that he does not take lightly, with tracks that incorporate industrial bass, cinematic qualities and gut-punching intensity. He’s fresh off his standout performances at EDC Las Vegas and ISOxo’s ‘KIDSGONEMAD!’ tour, has built a strong presence on Gud Vibrations over the past four years with releases like “Harakiri” and “Anodize.”
Their collaborative offering “SPLINTER” sparks a fresh evolution in modern bass, fusing bold experimentation with razor-sharp production.
NVADRZ and VARI’s new single “SPLINTER” is available everywhere via Gud Vibrations.
