Amsterdam-based DJ/producer Odette lands on Enzo Siragusa’s LOCUS imprint with her four-track ‘Impressive Rhyme’ EP. With over a decade in the industry and releases on labels like MicroHertz, DENSER, NEED, and TBX Limited, as well as her own VDK label, Odette has remained a constant within the Dutch house landscape, with appearances at the likes of BRET, Shelter and Toffler. Blending influences from minimal, house and techno, her latest release showcases the versatility and energy that have made her a respected name both behind the decks and in the studio.
Leading the EP, title track ‘Impressive Rhyme’ draws on heavy speed garage influences, punchy kicks and rolling low-end rhythms, while ‘Left To Right’ injects a dose of throwback ‘deep house’ flavours. Next, ‘Glory’ introduces playful, lighter textures balanced by squelchy acid-dipped moments, before ‘Simplify’ closes the EP with darker, hypnotic tones – with the four tracks highlighting her ability to balance classic influences with a fresh edge.
