Los Angeles, CA – Friday, June 5 – Australian-born, Berlin-based producer Ollie Lishman today joins forces with London duo The Melody Men for an explosive new single “Club Checker” on HARD Recs. Rooted in hardgroove and rave influences, the release continues Ollie Lishman’s run of club-forward productions while marking a new collaboration with The Melody Men, whose songwriting and production credits span across house and electronic music.
On “Club Checker”, breakneck MC rap hooks collide with silky vocal chops courtesy of The Melody Men. The result is a tension-filled club weapon driven by funky bassline swings, pounding percussion, shimmering synth crashes, and euphoric melodic flourishes.
“‘Club Checker’ was made in Berlin last year just a couple hours before a DJ set — built as a functional club tool focused on deep groove and momentum. The idea was to strip things back and capture the raw feel of 90s house records. Written instinctively, the track channels its energy through rolling drums, deep-cut vocals, and a hypnotic groove. Ollie Lishman is a distinguished DJ and producer from Naarm/Melbourne, Australia, currently based in Berlin, Germany, whose energetic fusion of groove, techno, and hard house has rapidly gained international attention.
