The uptempo wunderkind Ollie Lishman makes his debut on HARD Recs with “GET JUMPING,” another certified, high-flying production. Fast-paced music continues to dominate club culture, and with his new track, Lishman pushes the sound ever-forward by mining elements from the ‘90s-era hard house scene.

“GET JUMPING” launches right out of the gate with a fiery yet hypnotic bassline. After the first break, Lishman elevates the low-end into its own melody as it follows an intuitive flow against the hyped-up vocal sample. Airtight sparks of sound design are weaved into the mix with oscillating patterns, while the bass takes a back seat. Each element is manipulated at an expert level, ebbing and flowing like they are part of a living, breathing organism. As much as this track will live up to its namesake and get people flying off their floor, it also exhibits his acumen as an underground groove specialist.
Lishman remarks on the widespread influence he poured into his latest release: “I produced this record back in August last year, just a month after moving to Europe. I drew heavy inspiration from ‘90s hard house tracks, especially those that feature classic elements like infectious organ riffs and energetic MC vocals. It was written in Berlin; after a long weekend of touring, I wanted to make a new tool for those moments in my sets that really need to switch up and bring the energy and get the party jumping. The track name says it all. It’s a record that does as its name suggests: Get you jumpin’.”
Before moving to Europe, Ollie Lishman cut his teeth in Melbourne, Australia’s premier dance music destination. In a short but sweet span of time, the star-in-the-making has already released collabs with tastemaking talent from the likes of DJ Boring and Bad Boombox, via the ‘WATCH YO STEP’ EP. Since releasing his debut offering in 2022, he’s engaged more and more with the global scene, continually carving out a deeper niche used to express his full range of far-flung influences—resulting in a unique blend of techno, trance, and house. The niche in question has been lovingly named the ‘Hot House’ sound. In it, Lishman lives fast and grooves hard, and with millions of streams already to his name, clubbers are caught up in the groove right there along with him.
