Damian Lazarus’ Rebellion imprint continues to shine a light on the scene’s ever-evolving new wave of emerging talent, bringing together Manchester’s Omari and Dutch DJ/producer Le Modo for their collaborative ‘Pressure Loop’ EP. The title cut is driven by a hypnotic Shepard tone that, true to its title, steadily builds tension, while intricate percussive layers lock into a tightly wound, propulsive groove. On the flip, ‘That’s Right’ is a punchy roller at heart, guided by captivating vocals that recount the night’s exploits – playful yet primed with attitude; its infectious groove and energy make it a powerful dancefloor-focused cut that should be handled with care.

Drawing heavily on garage, hip-hop, and disco, Omari’s productions across labels including neXup recz, Mood Child, ILLUSTRATE, Front Left Recordings, and his own Ouroneo fuse tight, rolling percussion with weighty basslines and infectious vocal hooks. Hailing from the Netherlands, Le Modo brings his Detroit-influenced sound and deeply rhythmic sensibilities to the collaboration, complementing Omari’s UK-rooted approach for a meeting of styles that feels right at home on Crosstown’s sister imprint.
