Spanish producer Pablo Say is back on Truesoul with another sharp dose of groove-led techno, following his recent two-tracker ‘Repique’.
A key figure in Barcelona’s electronic scene, Say has steadily built momentum through releases like his Anna Tur collaboration ‘Ruta’, a contribution to Drumcode’s A-Sides series with ‘What’s That’, and a run of tightly crafted club cuts that continue to catch the attention of Adam Beyer’s camp. His latest release ‘Repique’ keeps that streak moving.
The title track pairs crisp percussion with a weighty low-end groove, while warped vocal chops inject plenty of late-night tension into the mix. On the flip, ‘Motherfuckers in the Club’ pushes into faster territory, blending driving rhythms with a slick melodic edge that gives the record a different kind of lift.
